.00hrs Wake up in Vale do Lobo, The Algarve. 23C. Have coffee. Feel great! Write 500 words. Should be doing this every morning.
.30hrs Packed and ready to take hire car to the airport. Temperature on the up. Now 25C. I don’t want to leave this temperature behind. Mood not good.
.30hrs Airborne and heading for Jersey, Channel Islands. Write 1000 words in flight. Waxing lyrical about Vale do Lobo and the climate. Make a mental note to try and find the magazine article I wrote on the subject 14 years ago and compare notes.
.30hrs Arrive Jersey. 16C. Not feeling quite so great. I love the heat so much. ? My grandmother’s Greek genes.
.30hrs Arrive home to a rapturous welcome from Cassie. There is no place like home.
.00hrs. Have mowed the lawn and waged war with the slugs and ants that have been eating my bedding plants during the last week.
.30hrs Sitting in the watery sun, drinking a Peroni with Cassie and the cats. It will be warmer tomorrow. Home is where the heart is.
