Sunday 5th July – Greece – Bailout offer rejected by Greek voters
Greek referendum show voters rejected the terms of an international bailout. 61% voted “No”, against 39% who voted “Yes” (Figures published by the interior ministry).

Tuesday 7th July – UK – London Remembers
Ten years to the minute after the 7/7 bombings brought carnage to London the 52 victims of the terrorist atrocity were remembered in a simple ceremony at the Hyde Park memorial that bears their names. Londoners making their way to work answered a call to walk together to remember victims and the many hundreds of survivors.

Wednesday 8th July – Bulgaria – Born Free
Heartwarming news for two caged Bulgarian circus lions, Jora and Black. A UK-based international wildlife charity www.bornfree.org has invited donations to relocate the pair to Born Free’s sanctuary at Shamwari, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, already home to lions and leopards rescued from life in captivity. Can you help them?

Thursday 9th July – Germany – Video Games Drugging
A 23-year-old man is fine 500 Euros for drugging his (now – obviously – ex) girlfriend so he could carry on playing video games. Outrageous! His fine was not steep enough. He is old enough to know better but it would appear that his mind is completely warped due to playing too many video games.
Friday 10th July – UK – Right Royal Blooper
Prince Philip vented his frustration whilst waiting for an official photo to be taken when he shouted at the photographer to “Just take the fing picture!”. The photo was to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Here is the fing photo after HRH’s tirade.
