Victoria Wood was one of the first stand-up comics I ever saw perform live and a woman! A revelation to me at that time. It was at the Theatre Royal in Bath and it was a fantastic night. It was a privilege to be there at the start of her career. She was not only very funny standing up solo, but she applied her comedy genius to both script and song writing as well. Not to mention her acting skills.
After that I avidly watched her rise to fame. I never missed an episode of Acorn Antiques and I can honestly say that I have watched every single show she has been in. I cannot believe that she has checked out so soon.

David Cameron has said
“Victoria Wood was a national treasure loved by millions …”
Spot on Mr Cameron …
Let’s do it by Victoria Wood
2016 has taken too many of the great and the good already this year and Victoria you were, without question, one of the best and one hell of an act to follow.
