TRAVEL UNDAUNTED: Puerto de Mogán, Gran Canaria

Vit D

By the end of a UK January, I’m craving sunshine … my Greek genes I think … I popped out the wrong side of the family, so we booked a holiday in Puerto de Mogán in November when I first became aware my Vitamin D level had started to plummet.

We are off tomorrow and I have been looking at the weather forecast in Puerto de Mogán on a daily basis for quite some time, willing the temperature to rise.

Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands which are separated from the Western Sahara Desert by a mere 490 km. of Atlantic Ocean.  The Sahara, somewhere one assumes the temperatures are always sweltering, but not today, it is similar to Gran Canaria.

Today’s weather forecast at home compared with Puerto de Mogán has left me wondering if we should have ventured a little bit further away from dear old Blighty but, the temperature in Puerto de Mogán is on the up and on the way down in the UK.  Sorry to mention that.

Hasta la vista
