Welcome to the home of the Serendipitous Blogs.
When I was seventeen, I was writing a weekly column for the local paper called Serendipity, which gave me free rein to write about what ever took my fancy. Fast forward several decades… in 2014 I decided to start a blog here at WordPress.
‘Expect the unexpected,’ I said, ‘I am a random blogger from Jersey, Channel Islands, UK,’ I said. Tessa Barrie’s Lost Blogs, I originally called it. The format and style has changed over the years, before visitor numbers peaked during 2018, but I am still here.
I am not writing as many blogs as I used to, because in 2015 I started sinking my teeth into chunky fiction projects.
Then came the Pandemic and Lockdown brought on periods of melancholia, not ideal when you are trying to write with a humorous edge. It also presented us all with hours of thinking time which inevitably brought back memories of temps passé and, during one one of my daydreamy trips down memory lane, I decided bring the word serendipity back into my life.
